What a wonderful world...

Good start as we finally won the toss!! Malcolm started well hitting the fence until he walked passed one and was stumped. Jarrod (88) and Shahbaz (94) built a partnership that helped set the platform to post a decent total. The innings did fall away towards the end, which was not the plan but looking back Shahbaz gave himself some time to get in and then it was an all out assault on the bowlers – the ball disappeared several times over the fence!! It was a pleasure to watch. This was better from the top order batsman. Application and fighting to protect the prize of one’s wicket…. 250 on the board meant lunch tasted good – Bedankt Dames again very nice! Farie started well with the ball, as did Shahbaz with the break through of the first wicket. Enoch got rid of the next player before their KIWI internationals built a partnership to threaten our score. Nighthawk (Vish) snippered in on the stumps and removed the five foot two “de Boorder” with the flared pants – we got the breakthrough! Malcolm bowled well in the middle when the attack was one- removing several of their players. And then the big one “Pro vs Pro” Enoch got a great caught and bowled to remove Stewart – yeah baby!!! Shahbaz then finished off the tail and we were there – FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON!! Sverre, Mats and Paul Jr fielded well. Jason had another good game with the gloves – he likes a born again Christian it seems! Although a little attention to detail is required with the distribution of the boundary flags, otherwise he may lose this title! Great team performance. This felt good and thanks again to the members who showed their support…
